Connecting TikTok Ads

Ask Theo, or open Connections

Say “connect TikTok Ads” in Theo chat and a Connect button appears right in the conversation. Or open Connections and click Connect on TikTok Ads.

Sign in with TikTok for Business

You sign in on TikTok's own page and choose what to allow. Your password never comes to OpenCharts or into the chat.

Done

If you asked for something while connecting — “show my active campaigns” — Theo picks it up as soon as you're signed in.

What You Can Do

  • • List your Business Centers and the ad accounts in them
  • • List campaigns, ad groups and ads with their status and budgets
  • • Pull performance reports — video performance, benchmarks, Smart+ materials and GMV Max
  • • Pause, enable or re-budget a campaign — after Theo tells you exactly what will change and you say yes
  • • Let a Theo Agent worker review your ads too, with the access you grant it on its Connections tab

TikTok Ads is for managing and reviewing ads. It doesn't post videos to a TikTok profile or upload new creatives — design the creative with Theo, then upload it in TikTok Ads Manager.

Using TikTok Ads from Theo Chat

"Connect TikTok Ads" → Puts a Connect button in the chat
"Which of my TikTok Ads campaigns are active?" → Lists your campaigns with status and budget
"How did my ads perform last week?" → Pulls the matching performance report
"Pause the Summer Sale campaign" → Tells you what will change, then pauses it once you confirm

Staying Connected

Your TikTok Ads sign-in is kept fresh automatically. If it ever stops working, ask Theo to reconnect it — a Reconnect button appears right in the chat — or reconnect it from Connections.

Disconnecting

Open Connections, find TikTok Ads and choose Disconnect. You can also remove the app's access from your TikTok for Business account.

Troubleshooting

No ad accounts are showing

Ad accounts are found through a Business Center. If you don't use one, tell Theo the advertiser ID shown in TikTok Ads Manager.

Theo asks before changing anything

That's on purpose: anything that could change what you spend, a budget or delivery waits for your clear yes. Reading reports never does.

Can Theo post my video to TikTok?

Not through this connection. TikTok Ads manages ads; it doesn't post to a TikTok profile.

Where is my total ad spend?

TikTok reports performance per report type rather than one all-campaign total. Theo quotes the numbers each report returns and never estimates a total.
