Music Mode — Theo Symphony

Create real songs with vocals — or instrumentals — straight from chat. Describe a vibe, write (or let Theo write) the lyrics, and Theo Symphony composes two versions of your song, each with its own AI cover art and a karaoke lyric player.

How It Works

Describe it, Theo records it

1. Open Music mode. Click Create music in the chat sidebar, choose Musicfrom the composer's mode menu, or just ask for a song from any chat. Music mode opens with a gallery of song styles — tap one (or Surprise me) to drop a starting idea into the composer, then tweak it. A Your songs link there opens your library anytime.

2. Set the vibe + lyrics. Tell Theo the style (genre, mood, instruments, tempo, vocal feel). Paste your own lyrics, ask Theo to write them, or set it to an instrumental for a vocal-free track.

3. Get two versions. Theo Symphony composes two takes of your song in parallel — each with cover art and a synced lyric player. Pick your favorite, download it, or ask for another.

Lyrics, Your Way

Bring your own

Paste lyrics with section tags like [Verse] and [Chorus] — Theo sings them exactly as written.

Let Theo write

Give a theme ("a road-trip anthem about new beginnings") and Theo writes original, structured lyrics for you.

Instrumental

Ask for an instrumental, beat, or backing track — no vocals, no lyrics needed.

Advanced Mode

Build a song field by field

Tap Advanced on the Music screen to open a focused song builder. Set the title, dial in the styles (genre, mood, instruments, tempo, vocal feel), and choose how you want the lyrics:

  • Write my own — type or paste lyrics with section tags like [Verse] and [Chorus].
  • Theo writes — give a theme and Theo drafts structured lyrics you can edit before you compose.
  • Instrumental — skip lyrics entirely for a vocal-free track.

Pick a quality tier, hit Create song, and Theo Symphony composes your two versions just like a chat request — the song lands right in the conversation with its cover art and karaoke player.

Choose Your Vibe

Living backgrounds

Music mode comes alive with full-screen animated backgrounds. Tap the small metal control on the right edge to switch between scenes — a bustling crowd, dithered wave / swirl / dots / warp shaders, a flowing fuchsia nebula, or a neon terrain. Each swatch is a live preview of the real scene.

Leave it on Auto (the default) and Theo gently shuffles to a fresh scene every so often, so it feels new each time you come back. Your pick is remembered for next time, and everything calms to a still backdrop if you prefer reduced motion.

The greeting and controls automatically adapt their contrast to whichever scene is showing — light text over the darker shaders, the standard look over the brighter crowd — so everything stays crisp and readable.

The Karaoke Player

Press play, sing along

Tap a version to open a full 9:16 player. The cover art fills the frame, an animated waveform reacts to the music, and the lyrics stream by karaoke-style — the current line lights up and scrolls into view so you can follow along. Instrumentals show the cover + waveform without lyrics.

Go immersive.Tap the expand button on the player to slide into a full-screen take-over: the cover art becomes a glowing, drifting backdrop, soft light blooms pulse in time with the music, and the lyrics run large and centered — word-by-word when the timing is available. It's built for both phone and desktop, picks up exactly where playback left off, and calms to a still backdrop if you prefer reduced motion. Tap anywhere to show or hide the controls; press Escape or the close button to come back.

The Song Studio

Build one song up, version by version

The moment your first song starts, Music mode opens into the Song Studio — a focused space built just for music. Your two trackssit pinned at the top with their cover art; while they render you'll see an elegant composing animation, and the moment they're ready you can press play right there.

Below the tracks, a collapsible song description shows the title, style, and version at a glance — tap it to expand the full lyrics and details.

Edit and it evolves. Just ask for a change — "make the chorus more upbeat", "switch to acoustic", "add a bridge" — and Theo composes a new version with exactly that change, keeping everything else. Each version stacks in the version timelinedown the side, so it feels like you're building one song up over time. Tap any version to bring it back to the top and play it.

Organize Your Songs

Workspaces & playlists

Every song you make is saved automaticallyto your Theo Symphony library the moment it finishes — and it's auto-sorted by genre, so your library organizes itself with no setup. Tap Your songs on any song card (or in the Song Studio) to jump straight there — it opens to the exact song you just made.

Want tighter control? Group songs into workspaces (playlists) — one per project, mood, or album — pin a whole genre shelf as a workspace in one tap, move songs between them, and replay any track in the karaoke player anytime.

The richer your style description, the better the song. Include genre, mood, key instruments, tempo (BPM), and the kind of vocal you want — e.g. "dreamy synth-pop, warm female vocal, 110 BPM, nostalgic late-night mood".
