Settings & Account

Manage your profile, security, notifications, appearance, and privacy from the Settings page. Access it via the sidebar or the user menu in the top-right corner.

What changed in Settings

Each settings area now has its own URL — no more deeply nested tabs. Use the sidebar (or the picker on mobile) to switch between areas, and hit ⌘K from anywhere inside Settings to jump straight to a specific setting.

Existing links that still use the old ?tab=... URLs keep working — they auto-redirect to the new sub-route + anchor.

Profile

Display Name

Your name shown to collaborators, in comments, and on the forum.

Avatar

Choose an avatar style (DiceBear) and customize the seed. Your avatar appears in presence indicators, comments, and the forum.

Handle

A unique @handle used for mentions in notes and the forum. Must be lowercase, alphanumeric.

Security & 2FA

Password

Change your password from the Security tab. You'll need to enter your current password first. Password strength is validated in real-time.

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Enable TOTP-based 2FA for extra security. Scan the QR code with your authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, etc.) and enter the 6-digit code to verify. You can set this up during onboarding or later in Settings → Security.

Save your recovery codes! When you enable 2FA, store the recovery codes somewhere safe. If you lose access to your authenticator app, recovery codes are your only way back in.

Notification Preferences

Toggles live in Settings → Preferences. Each toggle controls both the in-app bell card and the matching email channel (when Email Notifications is on globally). Disable a category and we won’t buzz the bell or send the email for it.

In-App Toggles

  • Project Activity — your own project creations.
  • Collaboration — someone shared a project with you, accepted your invite, or changed your permission.
  • Community Templates — new templates published on the platform.
  • Forum Activity — replies, vote milestones, and reactions on your posts.
  • @Mentions — someone @-mentions you in chat, the forum, or a project.
  • Team & Organization — membership and role changes inside your orgs, plus team-chat notifications.
  • Theo AI (Background Tasks) — skill / hook / workflow / EVI run completions and failures that Theo runs autonomously.
  • Meetings — meeting recordings finished processing or failed; we'll only ping you once per failure.
  • Code Canvas — background code iterations finishing, errors, and projects being published.
  • Task Reminders — 1-day, 5-hour, 15-minute, and overdue reminders for note tasks.
  • Web Clips — a collaborator clipped web content into a shared note.
  • Follows — someone followed your community profile.
  • Billing & Credits — credit assignments and billing emails (critical billing alerts always show in-app).

Email Toggles

  • Email Notifications — master switch for all transactional emails. Disable to silence the email channel without losing in-app cards.
  • Weekly Digest — Friday recap of activity, projects, and forum highlights.
  • Marketing Emails — product updates, tips, and announcements (off by default).

Notification Types & Triggers

  • Meeting completed / failed — fires when a meeting recording finishes processing or after our recovery pipeline gives up. Each failure is de-duplicated, so you won't get hit by Inngest, the cron sweep, and a manual retry all at once.
  • Code Canvas iteration ready / failed — the background code agent finished iterating on your project (or hit an error). Action button opens the Code Canvas editor.
  • Code Canvas published — your Code Canvas project went live at a public URL.
  • Skill installed — a new skill from the Skill Store is available in Theo Chat.
  • EVI run completed / failed — a manual editor-driven flow run finished. The action URL deep-links straight back into the run timeline.

Appearance

Choose between Light, Dark, and System theme modes. The toggle is available in the navbar on every page, and also in Settings → Preferences.

Privacy & Data

Your data is stored securely on Appwrite Cloud. All connections use TLS encryption.

Privacy settings control your profile visibility, activity status, follows, and the optional Theo watermark on AI-generated images.

Account-lifecycle actions live in Security:

View your active sessions and revoke them
Download your data export
Delete your account and all associated data

Billing & Subscription

The Billing tab shows your current plan, billing period, AI credit usage, and subscription status. From here you can upgrade, downgrade, cancel, switch billing periods, and purchase AI credit packs.

See the full Pricing & Billing guide for plan details and AI credit information.

Language & Region

Change your interface language and region from Settings → Language. Your preference syncs across devices. See the Languages & i18n guide for details.
