Is this a video of a real person?
It is a real-time video presence — a face and a voice that respond live, in the moment, to whatever the person on the other end says. It is not a recording, and it is not a script playing back. You choose the face from a library or upload your own.
Can it actually do things, or just talk?
Both. A persona is a Theo agent with a face, so mid-conversation it can search the web, build a deck or a document, add a card to a board, check the calendar, send an email, or remember something for next time. You pick which of the 51 capabilities it is holding.
What happens when a stranger calls a public persona?
Every capability runs as you, so anything that reads your workspace, spends heavily, or changes team state is refused on a public or team persona — the engine enforces it, not the settings screen. Public personas keep the safe half: search, weather, building things, remembering the conversation.
Does it speak other languages?
Yes — 15 of them, with 56 built-in voices that sound native rather than translated. You can also leave it on auto-detect and it will answer in whatever language the visitor opens with.
Where does it live once I publish it?
It gets its own page at a link you can send anyone, an embed script for your own site, and the option to join a scheduled meeting as a participant. Same persona in all three.
Can I build one without opening the Studio?
Yes. Personas are on the OpenCharts MCP server, so any agent you already use can create one, set its capabilities, publish it, and hand you the live link.
