Delete your OpenCharts account
This is how to delete the account you use with OpenCharts and its apps, including Theo Sidekick on Android, iPhone, Mac and Windows. OpenCharts, Inc. runs them all with one account, so deleting it once removes it everywhere. Deleting is immediate and permanent: there is no recovery window.
How to delete your account
From the Theo Sidekick app
Open Sidekick and go to Settings → Delete account → Open Security settings. Your browser opens the page where the deletion happens; finish there with the steps below.
On the web
- Sign in at opencharts.com/settings/security (Settings → Security).
- Choose Delete account and tell us why you are leaving.
- Type DELETE and choose Delete forever.
If you cannot sign in
Email privacy@theovex.com from the address on the account, or send a request with our data request form. We confirm the request comes from you, then delete the account.
What is deleted
Right away, and for good:
- Your account, your sign-in and your profile.
- Everything saved in your account across OpenCharts: projects, notes, conversations, and your files in Drive.
- From Theo Sidekick: your dictionary, Shorthand, transforms and dictation settings, Sidekick notes and conversations, and the daily record of words and minutes dictated.
- Your subscriptions, which are cancelled first, so nothing is charged after the account is gone.
Sidekick’s voice recordings are not kept on our servers at all: a dictation’s audio is transcribed and discarded, so there are none to delete.
What we keep, and for how long
A record that the deletion happened
Your email address, your name, the plan you were on and the reason you gave, with the date. It is kept for no longer than 24 months after the account is closed, as our Privacy Policy sets out, so we can answer questions about it.
Invoices and payment records
For a plan you paid for, kept as long as tax and accounting law requires.
Copies in backups
Kept isolated from any use until they can be deleted, as our Privacy Policy describes.

What stays on your phone
Your Sidekick history lives on the phone only
Sidekick keeps your dictation history and its recordings on your phone and never uploads them, so deleting your account cannot reach them. Clear them in the app with Settings → Clear dictations, or uninstall the app.
