Before you buy

Is Theo Law a separate plan?
Yes. Theo Law is its own subscription, priced per person, and it works alongside whatever OpenCharts plan you already have, including the free one. Cancelling it never changes your base plan.
What does it cost?
$74.99 per person / month, or $62.49 per person / month billed annually. A firm of three on monthly billing pays $224.97 a month. Seats can be added or released at any time.
Do I need a paid OpenCharts plan first?
No. Theo Law works on the free plan. AI usage draws on your account's monthly credits (500K on the free plan), so a busy practice may want a plan or a credit pack for more.
Can I try the legal assistant before buying?
Yes. Theo ESQ — the legal assistant — is available with an OpenCharts account and no Theo Law subscription: research, your own uploads and personal drafts. The firm workspace (matters, clients, the vault, finance, mail) is what the plan adds.
Who can see my matters?
You, and the people you give a seat to. Matter documents are searched inside an index dedicated to your matters, filtered by firm and by matter at the source, and every read is recorded on the matter's audit ledger.
Does Theo give legal advice?
Theo Law surfaces AI-assisted research and drafting. It is not a substitute for legal advice. Every output should be reviewed by a licensed attorney before filing.
Which court rules does the deadline engine know?
Today: Federal (FRCP), S.D.N.Y. Local Rules, California State (CCP). Every computed deadline cites the controlling rule so you can verify the math, and any deadline can also be entered by hand.
Can my whole firm use it?
Yes. Buy a seat for each person; everyone gets the full workspace. Roles — partner, associate, paralegal, staff, billing — and seats are managed from one roster.
